We are crowdfunding to cover some of the costs of making our debut album.
We are Dàna, an all-female four piece trad band based in Glasgow, Scotland. Dàna features Anna Robertson on fiddle, Laura Penman on clarsach, Eleanor Tout on whistle, and Alex Wotherspoon on piano. We met and formed Dàna while all studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2024. Each member contributes their individual style and influences, drawn from their diverse regional backgrounds and dialects, creating a sound that is both rich and exciting.
In January 2025, we won a Danny Kyle award at Celtic Connections 2025 and were finalists in the Battle of the Folk Bands 2025. We have performed all over the country from the rough bounds of Knoydart to as far up John O' Groats and Wick. We've also spent the year performing at prominent festivals and events, including Celtic Connections, The Reeling, Belladrum, MOKFest, and Under Canvas.
In 2025, we released 2 debut singles, 'The Crown Range' and 'Scallywags' which gained glowing reviews and radio play across the UK. The majority of the material was written by the band, and we look forward to continuing this creative process for our forthcoming album, which is set to be released in May 2026.

ABOUT THE ALBUM
We have already begun the process of creating our debut album, including arranging, recording and mixing. We've currently self-funded the whole process up until now, and need your support to cover the additional costs of creating our album.
We're super excited to be working with engineer Richard Werner in B&B studios and we have Ross Saunders mastering the album.
Creating an album is more than just the music, so we need your support to cover producing, printing costs, artwork & promotion.
Thank you for supporting us on this journey!
