Raising the deposit to stand Dan Hill as the Green Party candidate for North West Hampshire in the 2017 Parliamentary Election
It costs £500 to field one candidate. Support democracy by helping us provide people in Andover and North West Hampshire the option to vote for a Green voice.
By calling a snap election, the Conservatives have made it harder for smaller parties, relying on volunteers, to form an opposition fast enough. In Andover Green Party we have unanimously selected a candidate at a party meeting on 1st May, but we need to raise funds for the deposit, and to get as many leaflets as possible printed for distribution in the constituency.
Dan will be standing for Green Party policies on, among others:
We are extremely proud to be able to offer people the chance to vote for us but, as a grassroots party, we can't rely on non-doms and big business donations to clear the path to democracy for us.
We are looking to raise £500 to cover the cost of the deposit. Any funds raised beyond the deposit will go towards spreading the word about the Green message through leafletting, canvassing and events. Any funds we are unable to use in the very short timescale of this general election campaign will be used to spread the word longer term and to put us in a better position to fight the next election campaign.
Our members have already been working extremely hard to pick up the bulk of our costs but we do need that final push from all those supporters and activists out there who believe in equality not poverty, public services in public hands and power to communities.
