Daire's Day 2026

Aim

Raising vital funds to support a local family through the gruelling journey of IVF. Inspired by Daire's memory!

In October 2024 following a successful round of IVF, we welcomed baby Daire Mc Ginley into the world. Although born prematurely, we were delighted and were settling in for the long road in NICU watching him grow and become stronger. Tragically only a few days later he would pass away after contracting psuedomonas and our lives changed forever.

To remember Daire, in 2025 our club Seán Dolans GAC kindly requested to run 'Daire's Day' in his memory and we decided that we would use Daire's memory to raise money to support other families going through the gruelling journey of IVF here in Derry. 

Following a successful event in 2025 we were able to do just that and donated money to a local family who are currently going through IVF. 

On the 17th October 2026, the day before Daire's second birthday, our club will again come together to remember Daire and to raise money to support another family going through infertility.

We will host a family fun day with a coffee morning and raffles etc alongside a GAA 7s competition and our friends are also running fundraisers to support the event which we are indebted to.

We are asking you to help us in that quest and donate whatever you can.
