Individuals with support needs can access Annedd Ni for a cuppa and a friendly chat, escape the cold and see friends too!
Annedd Ni is Anheddau Cyf's Activity centre; we offer a variety of sessions to individuals with support needs, such as learning disabilities, mental health issues and physical disabilities. We are based in Bangor, North Wales.
Annedd Ni translates to 'Our dwelling' and that's exactly what we are aiming to achieve via this crowdfunder; more opportunities for individuals to be able to spend time and 'dwell' in Annedd Ni providing a warm, safe space.

Many of our individuals live independently, but this Winter heating homes is costly and loneliness and isolation can also have a big impact on people's mental health. At Annedd Ni we operate an open door policy where individuals are welcome to pop in for a hot or cold drink and a chat when we are open.
We hope to increase our opening hours and extend a more formal invitation to all individuals to access Annedd Ni with a weekly drop in session. The last coffee afternoon that we held saw individuals travelling from neighbouring counties and across Gwynedd to join us. We also shared in the joy of old friends reconnecting many of whom had not seen each other since before the covid-19 pandemic.

With the cost of living crisis we appreciate that leisure activities such as art and crafts, drama sessions and socialising have become luxuries, and some of the individuals we support are having to budget much more strictly. On 1st October 2022 we halved our session costs to reduce the financial barrier for those in the local community who access Annedd Ni.
In order to offer more opportunities for individuals to access Annedd Ni for a cuppa and a chat, we have created this crowdfunder in the hope that others will support us to achieve our goal.

With the money raised we will be able to offer a free drop in session each week, with the primary purpose of individuals being able to access Annedd Ni as a safe warm space and enjoy a brew and catch up with friends.

This session has the flexibility to develop in line with the needs and wishes of those who access them, as at Annedd Ni we apply a person centred approach in order to best meet the needs of the local community.
