Our vision is to recreate this missing link in the development of the modern GWR steam locomotive. This was one of the precursors for the locomotives that followed and sadly has not been preserved.

Anyone who pledges £1000 becomes a life member of the trust, has reasonable access to the locomotive at certain times, will be able to travel in the first train that the finished engine hauls, receives a certificate acknowledging their donation and a framed print of 3840. They will also be placed into a draw when the fund is fully funded for a replica number plate.
