Who are we?
Cwm Welfare AFC is a Welsh football club in the village of Beddau, Pontypridd. Formed in 1949, when Beddau Boys Club folded the team was set up and named after the Cwm pit based in the village at the time.
Why are we crowdfunding?
We are thrilled to announce that Cwm Welfare AFC has secured a major grant to complete the vital renovation of our clubhouse and changing facilities! However, to turn this dream into a reality and ensure our pitches can fully serve our community, we must need to secure a small chunk of the much larger £100k+ community project.
Why We Need Your Support
This is not just an upgrade; it's a critical investment in the safety, future, and capacity of our club.
1. Ensuring Safeguarding Compliance: This is our second major facility renovation in three years, and this final phase is essential. The new design will update our changing rooms to meet the very latest safeguarding policies issued by the Welsh FA. These improvements will include the expansion of the secondary changing rooms and the installation of separate shower cubicles. This ensures we provide a safe, modern, and inclusive environment for all our players, especially our growing girls' and junior sections.
2. Doubling Our Capacity: Currently, outdated facilities limit how we can use our site. Once completed, the improved layout will allow us to host two games simultaneously on both of our pitches. This massive increase in capacity means:
More children and adults playing football every weekend.
Less time waiting for pitches, maximizing training time.
The ability to welcome visiting teams and host tournaments.

Every pound raised through this page will go directly toward the physical construction costs of the extension, cementing Cwm Welfare AFC as a thriving, safe hub for sport in our community for years to come.
