Aim
Throughout 2026 I'm walking, running and swimming the distance between my home, Brampton and the World Scout Jamboree site, Gdansk in Poland
Between 1 January - 31 December 2026 I will be clocking up 1,334 miles. These miles equal the distance between Brampton, Cumbria and Gdansk Poland, where the World Scout Jamboree will be held.
As the journey between Cumbria and Poland would include a sea crossing, I'm planning on swimming 32 miles, running and walking the remaining 1,302 miles
I have been selected to represent Cumbria in the 26th World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk, Poland in 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for me to join 17 other young people from Cumbria in travelling to Poland to join with scouts from across the globe for a camp to promote peace and international unity.
In order to be able to attend this amazing camp, which only happens every four years, each participant in our Unit must raise £3500 each. This a once in a lifetime event that I will not be eligible to participate in again, so I would love to be able to go! Part of the money we raise across the UK Contingent will go towards helping Scouts from less affluent countries attend the Jamboree with the remaining funds being spent on travel and associated costs for our participants.
