Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Care is a small registered charity. We support families who are struggling with a number of services, including baby essentials, general clothing, toiletries and school uniform.
We operate a referral system, and children/young people are referred to us for help by a range of professionals and organisations working with families who are struggling to provide essentials for their children.
We are currently receiving a huge volume of referrals for our back to school packages, which include uniform, shoes, school bag and pencil case, PE kit and other essentials like underwear and coats.
We are able to provide most of what is needed through pre-loved donations, but we still have to buy lots to fill gaps and for hygiene reasons (everyone gets a pack of new pants for example!). In one week in July this year we spent over £600 on school essentials.
