Help us bring a community pottery kiln to Cullompton

Imagine having a pottery studio right in the heart of Cullompton, a place where anyone can come together and make with clay.

The newly formed Cullompton Community Pottery Studio CIC is working to establish a permanent, high-quality community pottery studio at The Walronds on Cullompton High Street, with a community kiln at its heart.

The CIC was founded by Helen McCormick, a local ceramicist and educator, with a vision to create a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone, from complete beginners trying pottery for the first time to experienced independent makers, can access the hand-building equipment, skills and community they need to get creative with clay.

Why do we need your help?

A kiln is one of the biggest and most essential pieces of equipment needed to make a community pottery studio possible. Your donation will help Cullompton Community Pottery Studio CIC towards purchasing a community kiln, giving local people access to facilities that aren't currently available in Cullompton.

The newly formed CIC is currently applying for an Arts Council England grant, as well as exploring other funding opportunities, to help establish the wider studio.

Arts Council England and other funding organisations need to see that projects have community support and are able to raise match funding towards the cost of the project.

That's where you can help.

Every donation, whether it's £10 or more, will contribute towards our match funding and demonstrate that local people believe this is something worth investing in.

Your support isn't just helping us buy a kiln, it is helping us demonstrate that Cullompton wants and needs a dedicated community pottery space.

What could this mean for Cullompton?

A community pottery studio at The Walronds could provide opportunities for people to:

  • 🏺 Try pottery for the first time
  • 🎨 Learn new creative skills
  • 🤝 Meet people and build connections
  • 💚 Support wellbeing through creativity
  • 🌱 Develop local creative talent
  • 🏘️ Access arts and cultural opportunities locally

Most importantly, it would create a lasting creative resource for the town, right in the heart of Cullompton.

Help us make it happen

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to be creative.

With your help, Cullompton Community Pottery Studio CIC can take the first step towards bringing a community kiln and permanent ceramics facility to The Walronds.

Every donation counts. Every donation demonstrates community support. And every donation brings us one step closer to getting the kiln through the door.

Thank you for supporting creativity in our community and helping us build a lasting cultural legacy for Cullompton.
