Help Us Light Up Culcheth Tennis Club by upgrading our existing inefficient floodlights to more sustainable and environmentally friendly LED

Who are we?

Two years ago, your amazing support helped us to rejuvenate our courts and install a new smart access gate. Now, we need your help once again to complete our upgrade by replacing our old floodlights with energy-efficient LEDs.

Culcheth Tennis Club is more than just tennis, it’s a community hub with sports, leisure, a friendly bar, and the Sundial Community Cafe. Every donation brings us closer to a brighter, greener future.

We welcome everyone to the Club whatever their ability or age. We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of all members, from those playing just for fun and fitness, to those wanting to compete in leagues. We offer a range of coaching which is advertised locally and everyone in the community is welcome to take part!

Why are we crowdfunding?

Our club means so much to our players, families, and community but our ageing floodlights need our urgent attention. They’re unreliable, expensive to repair, and waste energy. This year alone, we’ve had to replace seven bulbs!

With your support, we can install brand-new LED floodlights, brighter, greener, and far more efficient. They’ll cut costs, reduce our environmental impact, and keep our courts shining for years to come.

Even better, Sport England will match fund  £6,900 when we reach 50% of our target, so every pound you give goes twice as far! We therefore need to raise £7,000 ourselves.

How we’ll spend the money raised

Culcheth Tennis Club is a small, community club run by volunteers. Our membership fees just about cover day-to-day maintenance, leaving little room for bigger improvements, so we’re crowdfunding to make a real difference.

We need your help to upgrade to brand-new LED floodlights to replace our old, unreliable ones that are expensive to repair. The new lights will be brighter, more energy-efficient, and far better for the environment, helping us create a sustainable future for the club and everyone who plays here.

Community impact

Culcheth Tennis Club is at the heart of our community bringing people together through coaching, club sessions, and social events. We work closely with local schools, clubs, and groups like the Cub Scouts, helping young people stay active and engaged.

Upgrading to LED floodlights will make a huge difference. It will allow children and adults alike to play safely during the darker winter months, extend evening sessions, and open up our courts to more non-members through a new coded gate system.

This project isn’t just about better lighting it’s about creating more opportunities for everyone in our community, from juniors to retirees, to stay active, social, and connected all year round.
