We want to bring some very much needed Christmas cheer to our local community in this particularly challenging year with a lovely Tree!
Imagine as you walk through the Triangle on a chilly crisp December day or evening all wrapped up in your hat and scarf that you see the Christmas Tree and feel the Christmas and community spirit of Crystal Palace!
Newsflash*****
We are now at £5,755 or 96% of our target! C'mon Crystal Palace we can do this!
Our fab local businesses are also stepping up with donations:
Last year saw Crystal Palace’s first every Christmas Tree and performances bringing our community together. This year with your support we can create A Crystal Palace Christmas that will be a beacon of togetherness and hope for our community at a time when seasonal cheer has never been more important. Crystal Palace is renowned for being the beacon of the south so let’s give it some festive feeling!
Last year Father Christmas himself switched on the lights on our Christmas Tree. He’s agreed to return this year and we’ll make this an online event, filming it to share across community platforms along with special festive performances from our talented local artists.
With enough donations local schoolchildren will be able to create a Festival of Lanterns in shop windows and permanent improvements can be made to the Victorian street lamps and listed toilet railings around your Christmas Tree at the corner of Church Road and Belvedere Road
Please get involved by making a donation if you can afford to so everyone in our community can share in the happiness and joy of A Crystal Palace Christmas.
Supported by Crystal Palace Festival, The Secret Garden and Palace App.
£3,500 will give us a Christmas Tree to be proud of
The tree will be installed by a team of local events freelancers giving them much needed employment after a devastating year for the events industry using a bespoke system for securing it atop the listed Victorian toilet railings safe from winter winds blowing up Belvedere Road. Costs include insurance, the tree and hiring a cherry picker (or if you can lend one let us know!)
For a stretch target of £1,200
A special festive performance from local talent will be presented, filmed and shared across community platforms. This will pay for performers fees, recording costs, sound and co-ordination.
For a stretch target of £700
A Festival of Lanterns will bring lanterns designed by children from local schools into shop windows, paying for co-ordination costs and materials.
For a stretch target of £600
We can restore the Victorian toilet railings and street lamps around our Christmas Tree at the corner of Church Road and Belvedere Road which is a listed community asset. We have 10 days in-kind labour to support this work.
Any additional funds will help allow us to light up other parts of Westow Green outside Sainsburys and keep these lights for future Crystal Palace Christmases.
