Project Aim
Up to 5,000 refugees and migrants are currently living in horrific conditions in 'the Jungle' in Calais. The vast majority are from Syria, Iraq or Eritrea where they are fleeing violence, war or persecution. Key needs are basic essentials like shelter, clothes and food.
Why do we care about this?
Many of the people stuck in 'the Jungle' have fled war, violence or persecution. We want to show those who are there that they haven't been forgotten. We also want to show that England isn't turning a blind eye to these issues. The UK is known around the world for responding generously to disasters - lets not lose this reputation when the crisis is on our doorstep! We realise that this is a very heated topic at the moment in the UK. Despite this we want to do the most we can to offer practical support.
How will the money be spent?
Money will be spent on buying supplies to take to Calais. This will include items like tents, sleeping bags, roll matts, stoves and clothes. If you want to direct your giving, just let us know. Also if you want to help in a specific way please just drop us an email. All money given will go on items that will be taken to Calais. If you would like to support the costs of this trip let us know when you make your gift.
