Aim

This exciting project involves completing much needed improvements to the current CRRh changing rooms and clubhouse through extension and refitting of the existing facilities.
Our ambition is to create a large, modern and excellent facility which is 'fit for the future' and in doing so contribute to the club’s ambitions of increasing participation across all age groups and teams, with a particular focus on the ever growing Ravens (girls/women’s) and junior sections. The redevelopment works will also look to increase community usage/engagement with the facilities and clubhouse.
The existing changing facilities are not fit-for-purpose, particularly for the Ravens and junior participation, with only a single communal shower facility. The proposed scheme will increase the available changing rooms from four to six through extension of the existing changing room block and refitting of the existing changing rooms. Each changing room will have self-contained shower/WC facilities for improved safeguarding. Improved player medical and rehab facilities are also included.
Proposed alterations to the clubhouse will look to improve facilities for members and the public through internal improvements / refurbishment of the main function room, toilets and upstairs meeting room - including disabled access, relocation of the kitchen and upgrade of audio/visual/conferencing facilities. Externally, the existing balcony will be extended to include a seating area, new servery area and separated smoking area.
Planning permission for the above proposals was granted by Denbighshire County Council in October 2022.
The capital works will be undertaken by local contractors in three distinct phases for logistical and funding reasons.
- Phase 1 – Extension of the existing changing room building and new player entrance
- Phase 2 – Refitting of existing changing room block
- Phase 3 - Clubhouse redevelopment
The committee are currently working hard with our development partners, the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU), and various funding bodies to raise a significant portion of the funds, however, a proportion will be required directly from the club, its supporters, sponsors and local businesses.
