To empower marginalised people, many affected by Domestic Abuse, to budget, manage bills and eat healthily during the cost of living crisis
RCT work with some of the most marginalised and disadvantaged people living across the deprived Borough of Rochdale. Many of those we support have been adversely affected by the harms of Domestic Abuse, both physical and emotional and some are new to the area after being moved in order to keep them safe.
We are aware that those with the least in society are going to be hit the hardest by the current cost in living crisis. Many were struggling to get by beforehand. Services like those that we provide at RCT are going to be in greater demand than ever.
We need to offer access to sessions that educate and support participants to better manage their own money, cope with spiralling bills and to try to cook and eat more healthily, whilst simultaneously providing support interventions to help them to recover from their horrendous ordeal of being in an abusive relationship. We want to empower women to meet the needs of their children and to flourish as a positive role model who does the best job they possibly can in the most difficult of circumstances. We want their children to look back in future years and to be inspired by the courage and strength showed by their Mum's. This is only possible if we provide support to them during what is an unprecedented financially challenging period in history.
We hope you can support us to help that need it most and to contribute to a more equal society. Thank you.
