Developing sustainable and accessible cricket for all in Rugby - which builds on our growth in women's and girls cricket.
Who are we?Rugby Cricket Club provides opportunities for women, men, girls and boys to play cricket at all levels. Our first XI is in the Premier Division of the Warwickshire League and won the League in 2017.
Now we need your support to boost our junior and women's game and improve and expand our playing facilities and access to the ground. With your help we can give greater opportunities to more people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the sport we love
We have been successful in increasing the participation in cricket at Webb Ellis ground we need to maximise the use of the space in a sustainable way. To improve the use of our cricket square we need to buy an electric mower. This will maintain the green space so it can be used more often for the use of all our cricketers in a sustainable way.
We want to continue to grow the participation from girls and in schools where cricket is not offered. The funding will also be used to fund girls only cricket and work in local schools for children who do not have opportunities to participate in sport and in particular the cricket we all love. With your help we can give greater opportunities to more people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the sport we love.
We had great success in March 2022 to fund the new nets and an astroturf pitch for juniors to create a cricket club for all. In fact the success of this project has created an even greater need to increase the availability of the facilities with equipment and coaching.
We successfully raised £35,486 with 142 supporters in 42 days And we want to thank all those who supported us including Sports England £10,000 pledge as part of Places and Spaces.

We will spend the money on an electric mower to make better use of the cricket square. This will be a sustainable way to manage the square and enable more use out of wicket for a wider group of players.
Funding for coaching building on successful start of women's and girls cricket. Providing a range of coaching sessions including Divan a specialist bowling coach.
Support for coaching sessions for children at schools where there is little or no cricket provision.
Improve access to our entrance which has increased use with a permeable and sustainable driveway.

Our cricket community is diverse with a range of ethnic backgrounds, men, women, girls and boys.
Hosting a celebration of cricket in construction with Warwickshire Cricket Board for over 200 school kids.
Providing the only cricket facility in town centre and making this available to more people
Girls only cricket holiday sessions with initial sessions attracting 15 plus girls.
Mental health in cricket awareness course for the rugby area
