Cricket Nets re-surfacing

Aim

We hope to provide the club with brand new artificial net re-surfacing, providing our players with top quality training facilities.

Who are we?

We are a local cricket club based in HD3. Our club is growing year on year and our juniors are the fastest growing in the league. We have over 120 juniors including boys and girls as well as running the ECB All Stars programme. We run 3 senior teams across Saturday and Sunday and compete in the Halifax League having 50 senior playing members. Our club is the hub of the community on both training nights and midweek and weekend games. 

Why are we crowdfunding?

As our club grows we need to invest in the infrastructure to keep the club up to date and as modern as possible. Our artificial nets need re-surfacing so that all playing members can train with state of the art facilities. Our current facilities are very old and ripped making it sometimes dangerous which can limit the practice time for our Juniors. 

We have been given a generous amount of £6500 by Sport England but we must match this amount by crowdfunding. 

How we’ll spend the money raised

All money raised will go directly in to re-surfacing the artificial nets currently in place. As you can see by the photo they are in desperate need of repair. The money will go towards completely replacing the surface with new shock pads and new carpet. We have quotes in place that detail the work needed including installing shock pads at batting ends and full width cricket carpet looking similar to the below:

Community impact

Our club is the hub of the community both mid week and weekends. We are the only local cricket club in HD3. Friday evening junior training nights there are around 100 children training with all their parents and guardians also there enjoying the clubs facilities as well as watching their children train. Food is offered as well as a bar area, pool table, darts and sports on the TV. Its a very social evening. 

Cricket is on every evening as well with our U9, U11's, U13, U13 Girls & U15's playing across the week. Tuesdays are our senior training night so there isn't a day in the week where cricket is not played!

We have recently invested heavily in changeroom upgrades and clubhouse upgrades to create a welcoming environment.
