As a rural school with limited funding we would love to see the facilities for outdo...
We are a rural school with an emphasis on outdoor learning, seeking to increase our opportunities in sports and outdoor play activities.
With 196 years of heritage, Creavery is a rural, caring primary school where each child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our pupils benefit from a fantastic outdoor learning environment with extensive wooded school grounds with a woodland classroom and poly-tunnel. The photo below is from our last sports day, we love to use our outdoor space!
To encourage our pupils to re-engage with sports and athletics as the COVID pandemic saw many of the physical activities they were engaging with before covid ceased. At present the children are involved in a 'daily mile' challenge during school hours. We seek to improve resources for sports and after school opportunities to help bring the children back to being fit and healthy and to inhale fresh air into their little lungs after having been subjected to months of indoor activities and school work and some even having had covid themselves. This funding will enable us to start 6 and 4 week after school sports clubs throughout the school year, in a range of sports, including football, hockey club coached by Randalstown Ladies Team, mixed sports by Active Kids, and highland dancing as well as purchasing items for these clubs such as new goal posts and a basketball net.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. If you want to run your own fundraiser to support us, maybe a sponsored activity or similar, use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
We hope to spend the funds on outdoor play equipment, after schools sports clubs including football, hockey, dance and multi sports with trained professionals coming to the school to run football sessions.
Our school opens its gates to CE groups and the wider community at our bi-annual school fair. In addition to this we are part of a shared education programme and would love to share our resources together!
