Creative Workspace is a long term investment for us. We believe there are too many cultural and financial barriers preventing some communities from engaging with and participating in the arts.
We are based in Withywood, South Bristol, a community that has a very great need for the opportunities Creative Workspace has to offer: a place enabling local people of all ages to engage with and participate in the arts either for educational, professional or recreational purposes.
The sooner we are beginning to turn a profit the sooner we can begin to fund free creative engagement events for the community at weekends and during the school holiday. The sooner also we can offer fully funded Arts Award programmes for local young people, enabling them to gain a nationally recognised qualification that will support them into further education or employment.
We need your help to support Creative Workspace! It's a long-term community and arts engagement venture with the potential to do a lot of incredibly good things for many different kinds of people. Here's more about those good things...
Creative Workspace will offer much-needed rehearsal space for all the new and emerging theatre companies in and around Bristol, as well as offering many additional facilities particularly useful for theatre companies: free WIFI for producers and for research, a workshop with carpentry and costume-making tools and a music room with recording equipment.
Creative Workspace will also provide space for local musicians to rehearse and record, for community choirs and dance classes to rehearse and for creative freelancers to co-work and hotdesk.
Creative Workspace can also provide room for young people to participate in creative activities in all artforms including dance, drama, music and visual art.
Creative Workspace will be able to host funded Arts Award programmes at all levels which will enable local young people to gain a nationally recognised qualification helping them to further education or employment.
Creative Workspace can host free creative community events during school holidays and weekends.
The cafe will provide a relaxed environment for all users of the Creative Workspace.
As we said, many good things for many different people. So please donate what you can so we can start making these good things happen! Thankyou!
Gill, Paul and Rachael.
