We're still collecting donations
On the 20th November 2020 we'd raised £30,300 with 70 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Help those hit hardest in the UK's creative industries to connect to the support, education, opportunities and inspiration they need
by Creative Industries Federation in London, England, United Kingdom
On the 20th November 2020 we'd raised £30,300 with 70 supporters in 42 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
Raising more money will allow us to add extra sessions onto the festival and invite more creative practitioners across the UK to access the festival and be part of something bigger.
It’s not news that this year has hit our world-leading creative sector hard.
The creative industries employs over 2 million people in the UK and every one of those people has been impacted in some way. Theatres are still empty, music venues are closed, galleries are operating at a loss, film & TV productions are navigating COVID rules to try to keep going, the fashion industry is still recovering from being ground to a holt, to name but a few of the issues facing our sector. We’ve talked to our members and know first-hand thousands of creatives are still in crisis, particularly freelancers who have fallen through the gaps of government support and young people trying to start their careers during the most impossible of circumstances.
What people in the creative industries need now is connection – to each other, to opportunities, to inspiration for a brighter future. We are the Creative Industries Federation, a not-for-profit organisation that connects, supports and champions all of the UK’s creative industries. and we believe connection changes everything. That's why we have launched our crowdfund to enable our community to come together to reach and to help those in our industry facing the worst of times and give them the chance to connect, and access the support, education and job opportunities and advice – with a little bit of inspiration - to help them get back on their feet.
Our crowdfunding campaign is now dedicated to tackling creatives facing real hardship - for every donation made we're aiming to help a creative get back on their feet.
We are partnering with the Creative Mentoring Network and others to provide free memberships for over 1,000 UK creatives for a year*, including tickets to our three-day online, Creative Coalition 2020, to those who need it most. This will provide those struggling in the sector with:
Extensive networking opportunities to ensure they get their work in front of the right people
Free business and personal growth resources
Access to weekly events and workshops
The chance to shape government opinion through advocacy consultations
The opportunity to join our thriving online creative community via The Federation Workplace
Full access to our three-day festival, Creative Coalition 2020 with industry speakers offering practical advice and support alongside inspiration for the future of our creative industries, as well as enabling them to network and find the business leads they need to recover
If we reach £30,000 we will give 1,000 community memberships and festival tickets to those who need it most. Each donation will help us get towards our target.
Meeting new people and finding work is incredibly hard at the moment - and we know it. Far from your standard digital ZOOM fest, this new festival is all about creating opportunities for creative practitioners to network new business leads, find out about funding, get business critical insights and practical support - as well as be inspired by some brilliant creative leaders like Sir Steve McQueen, Jefferson Hack, June Sarpong OBE and the BBC Director General, Tim Davie CBE to name but a few. Take a look at the full programme here.
Membership to the Creative Industries Federation means being a part of the UK’s biggest creative network spanning across all of the creative industries – across film, fashion, art, architecture, design, music and all that’s in between. With a network of over 10,000 creatives and benefits that include advocacy, networking, a growing list of cutting edge tools and resources to help you find jobs and opportunities, membership is a powerful way for those in our creative communities to stay connected to the support they need. No-one who works in the creative industries should be left feeling alone and isolated from the support they need to get through.
We know we speak for us all in the creative industries when we say that we can't let any more brilliant minds going to waste as a result of this pandemic.
Please pledge whatever you can. Every £1 raised will go to helping freelancers and young people who have been knocked by this crisis, get back on their feet.
