Aim

To launch a permanent visitor attraction in Newcastle centred on the wonderful spirit that is Gin!

We are raising money to launch "The National Gin Museum" in Newcastle upon Tyne.  Why a museum for gin? There has been a massive resurgence in all things artisan, with Gin being at the forefront along with craft brewing.  Gin is the only growing sector of the spirits sector, with sales nudging £1Bn in the UK last year. Whisky has a long heritage in visitor attractions, and we believe there is an appetite for a gin-themed visitor attraction.  Why Newcastle? Because it enjoys annual visitor numbers of around 17 million people per annum, most of whom are of legal drinking age.  There are five gin producers within 20 miles of Newcastle, making it a 'gin hot spot'.

The money raised will go towards getting the premises fit for purpose and the associated legal fees.

The local authorities are assisting where they can in terms of advice and signposting, but no financial help is available at this time.

We intend to develop links with local colleges to source employees who are studying tourism, retail and hospitality, thus giving back to the local community.
