upgrade and redevelop our GPDC Dance Studios space.

by Find Your Groove CIC in Plymouth, United Kingdom

We are looking to fundraise with the aim of allowing upgrades and redevelopment of our GPDC Dance Studios space for our 'GP Family' in central Plymouth, to directly benefit our 100+ dancers and performers of all ages from all over the south-west physically, mentally and socially.

We would be beyond grateful for any donations at all towards this redevelopment, which would provide an amazing platform for us to really push on from, grow and continue to strive to provide constant major (and sometimes life-changing) performing and competitive opportunities for our often nationally and internationally-recognised young dancers and performers.

We feel that at this stage that the upgrades and redevelopment are essential for our dancers, performers and teachers, after struggles over the past couple of years especially disrupting our teaching and sessions with numerous building maintenance issues including constant leaking roofs creating uneven floors and power cuts.

At GPDC we provide dance and performing art classes for all mindsets and all ages from 4+; providing for dancers/performers that would just like to drop-in and do a class for fun and fitness, as well as providing high-level dance training for dancers and performers wanting to progress to prestigious dance colleges, with the aim of getting into the industry and having a successful career in dance and/or performing.

As one of the most active and successful dance companies in the UK and recently being crowned the 'SHC Top Scoring Dance School in the UK' for the 2023-2024 Street Dance Competition Season, we are constantly striving to provide amazing (and often life-changing) dance and performing opportunities locally, nationally and internationally for our 'GP Family.'

As well as being very successful whilst competing all over the UK consistently throughout the year and accumulating a mass of group and individual titles in Street Dance, Contemporary, Commercial, Acro, Jazz and Musical Theatre, our dancers have also performed on world-famous stages on multiple occasions such as Disneyland California and Universal Studios Hollywood through regular organised dance training trips to Los Angeles since 2015, as well as performing at some of the biggest arenas in the UK including the London O2 Arena, Birmingham NIA Arena, London Copper Box, Glasgow Emirates Arena and Nottingham Motorpoint Arena through our contract providing dancers for the finals of the British Basketball League/Super League Basketball events over the past 4 years.

In addition to this, we have had many dancers and performers working professionally whilst at GPDC through our GPDC Agency, gaining many roles in TV, Film, Musical Videos and Theatre including UK Tours, West-End Shows and Regional Performances.

Some examples of work gained through our GPDC Agency include Disney's upcoming Snow White movie, The Salt Path movie, BBC's Malory Towers, Doc Martin, Beyond Paradise, Death In Paradise and ITV's Playing Nice, major music videos for Central Cee and James Arthur, as well as UK Tours for Matilda, School Of Rock, Annie and Fantastically Great Women That Changed The World, and Why Am I So Single on London's West-End. Our performers have also worked on Cruise Ships travelling the world and appeared as dancers on Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and ITV's Dancing On Ice.

In addition to all this we provide a safe and inclusive space for people of all ages. Our practitioners endeavor to support our young people in all aspects of their life. We are trained mental health first aiders and provide vital support for so many of our students. This newly renovated space will allow us to expand our reach to even more young people and provide additional sessions for them to thrive aswell as an allocated fitness space and a calm homework space.

If we are successful in gaining the necessary fundraising this would just be the start of a real legacy for our dancers and performers, and would create a very exciting future; allowing us to create a dance and performing arts complex to match the amazing potential and talent of all dancers and performers that walk through our studio doors, as well as creating memories and experiences that will last a lifetime.

Thank you so much in advance from all of the GP Family.
