CREATING ACCESS FOR ALL

Aim

To create 'Access For All' via a Disability Platform lift to access the Sports Pavilion/Community Room built 2 metres above ground level.

Evesham Bowling Club believes in 'Access for All' and works hard to make the Sport of Bowls exactly that by having an all inclusive policy that welcomes everyone irrespective of age,gender, orientation ,ability/disability to enjoy the sport as equals with full access to all the Clubs facilities. This has been very successful and has enabled many with restricted mobility or long term impairment to feel for the first time they are able to engage in sport as an equal thus improving their sense of wellbeing and increasing confidence. 

However the new Club room is also a Community Room and access to that for any one with mobility issues is impossible to enter since it is raised 2 metres above ground level and that means those with disabilities excluded from using the building.

The project is to install a Disability Platform Lift to the stairs which will allow access to the balcony so everyone whether club member or Local community groups can all enjoy the excellent facilities.
