Aim

Through this Crowdfunder we aim to raise funds to refurbish the clubhouse at Moseley Ashfield CC

Moseley Ashfield Cricket Club have been at the heart of Moseley for over 120 years.  In recent years they have had to endure the challenges of Covid but have continued to thrive on the field with ever increasing numbers of junior cricketers and five senior sides every weekend.

Unfortunately in financially trying times the clubhouse and facilities haven't kept pace with the cricket development and are in need of refurbishment.

Why are we seeking to raise funds?

We would like to carry out a full refurbishment of the clubhouse and toilet facilities to strengthen our clubs position as a hub of the local community. We want to make players, parents, volunteers and community members feel welcomed at the club and give them a facility that they can feel proud of. Hopefully through a combination of this campaign and club funds we can deliver something for the people of Moseley to be proud of.

How our project will be United by Birmingham 2022

Moseley Ashfield CC intend to fully embrace the once in a lifetime experience of the Commonwealth Games on our doorstep.  Cricket will feature in the Games for the first time and as the nearest club to Edgbaston where cricket will be hosted we intend to embrace the opportunities it presents.  We already have a Girls Cricket Festival booked and intend to arrange other events such as BBQ and a Womens Softball Festival that will allow us to champion sport, engage with the local community and celebrate our diversity as a club and the area we reside in.

Womens & Girls Cricket

The club has committed to offering its first girls cricket in 2022.  To ensure facilities are welcoming and we can retain these young cricketers and parents we need an extensive redecoration and refurbishment in areas.  In conjunction with the Commonwealth Games this year the club has a number of events focusing on Girls and Womens cricket.  The club is the nearest club to Edgbaston where the Womens cricket will be held.

All Stars, Dynamos & Junior Cricket

The club has run a thriving junior section for a number of years which has got busier as we embrace the ECB National Programmes. Having an inclusive, welcoming clubhouse is essential to us retaining youngsters and parents and allowing the club to run a sustainable business model. Moeen Ali started his cricket career at Moseley Ashfield and hopefully the club can produce the next Moeen in years to come!

Community Cricket

As well as Moseley Ashfield CC we also provide a home for Birmingham University Womens Cricket, Old Moseley Arms, Bharat Parivar CC and are the home for the midweek Birmingham Business League.
