 New stretch target

If we hit a bigger target than expected, we will put these funds into expanding our vision to more outdoor equipment, Forest School programmes for more children, all aimed at improving academic success and mental wellbeing.

What is our vision?

At St Joseph's Catholic Primary School we are passionate about providing a rich and varied learning environment that inspires our children. We believe that all children deserve an engaging learning experience and varied curriculum that stimulates them, enabling them to become confident and successful learners. We are looking to raise £10,000 to invest in new playground equipment to specifically enhance gross motor skills, directly contributing to improved focus and academic performance. Research shows that dedicated playground equipment improves overall academic achievement. By providing this equipment we aim to help all of our children boost their confidence, improve their social skills and reach a higher academic performance in the classroom.

The new outdoor learning environment also aims to boost motivation with the wider benefit of the children transferring skills learnt and confidence gained outdoors into the classroom. We hope to incorporate a regular Forest School learning environment at our school as we recognise the positive impact of outdoor learning. We want the children to experience more opportunities for curiosity, being creative, learning  in nature and beyond the classroom. We hope the Forest School will enable children to experience an increase in their confidence, learning capacity, enthusiasm, problem-solving skills and communication.

Our main playground is lacking in equipment for the size of our school. By providing a well-equipped outdoor space with outdoor musical stations we aim to provide an exciting and stimulating environment for our pupils across all years. Outdoor musical instruments offer the chance for children to be creative while they are playing. They can give children the unique chance to express themselves while learning to produce musical sounds for their own, and others’, pleasure.

We firmly believe that improving our outdoor learning space will significantly benefit our pupils and provide them with lifelong social skills, confidence and boosted motivation to learn thereby improving their achievements in the classroom. Your donation will help to realise our vision and make an impact in the lives of our pupils.

Why are we crowdfunding?

With increasingly smaller budgets being given to schools, our available funds are spent on vital academic materials and teaching provision. This leaves little funds to spend on new equipment and learning opportunities outside the classroom. By crowdfunding we hope to raise money to go alongside business sponsorship and grants to raise enough funds to enhance our outdoor learning environment which we believe will make a huge impact on the lives of our pupils.

We really appreciate your interest in St Joseph's and hope that you can appreciate our vision and see that it will bring happiness and worthwhile benefits to our children.
