Aim
In partnership with White Stuff, funds raised will support creative projects for young carers leading up to Young Carers Action Day in 2027
Young carers are children and young people who help care for someone they love, including a parent, sibling or other family member living with illness, disability, mental health challenges or addiction.
They often balance these responsibilities with school, friendships and growing up.
For many, these responsibilities can have a significant impact:
- 27% of young carers aged 11–15 experience educational difficulties or miss school.
- 68% are bullied and feel isolated.
- 51% of young carers provide more than 20 hours of care every week.
From midday on 29 September to midday on 6 October 2026, Create is partnering with White Stuff for one week of match funding.
For every £1 donated to Create, White Stuff will give another £1, doubling the value of each donation.
So:
- £10 becomes £20
- £25 becomes £50
- £50 becomes £100
What are we raising money for?
Funds raised will support our ‘Fair Futures for Young Carers’ project led by Create’s professional artists. The creative arts workshops will give young carers dedicated time to explore their creativity, develop new skills and connect with others.
Their work will then be celebrated as part of Create’s Young Carers Action Day showcase.
Why creativity?
Create’s projects give young carers dedicated time to focus on themselves.
Working alongside professional artists and other young carers, they can explore different artforms, express themselves, develop new skills and connect with people who understand their experiences.
As Maya*, who has helped care for her mum since she was nine, explained:
“Projects like these help people express what they feel. Sometimes people bottle it up. Expressing it can make you feel like you can spread your wings, you can just be who you are.”

How does match funding work?
It's simple:
You donate £10 → White Stuff donates £10 → Create receives £20
You donate £25 → White Stuff donates £25 → Create receives £50
You donate £50 → White Stuff donates £50 → Create receives £100
White Stuff will match donations £1 for £1 up to the agreed match funding total.
