Support Crantock SLSC so we can buy essential kit for our volunteers as they patrol Crantock beach whilst there is no RNLI cover
Crantock Surf Life Saving Club has already mobilised its volunteers to provide beach patrols on Crantock Beach whenever possible and we hope to continue this for as long as there is no RNLI cover (which has ceased for the foreseeable due to the COVID situation). Crantock Beach is a beautiful place; popular with locals and tourists. But the sea here is challenging with many people requiring the assistance of lifesavers every year.
Since lockdown has lifted the beach has become busier but with no RNLI cover, our volunteers have stepped up to provide advice, prevention and rescue. In the first week of patrolling we have already dealt with two incidents and provided preventative information which ensured rescues were not required.
Our activity, including patrols, is normally covered by Club fundraising (events etc) and membership but this has been thwarted somewhat by Covid-19!
Our aim for this campaign is to raise a minimum of £2,000 which will cover essential costs to undertake Summer patrols; ensuring that our volunteers have the correct kit and qualifications they need.

Anything over and above our initial target will be put towards the cost of a defibrillator and power source which is in the region of £2,000+.
If there are any local businesses who might want to support the purchase and printing of our high viz vests in return for logo placement on them, please do let us know. Likewise, in-kind support such as the supply of sun cream or hand gel would be gratefully received.
Your support will have a huge impact as any equipment we buy through this fund will be utilised during training and our out of hours patrols by Club members for many years to come .
Thank you for engaging in our campaign and for your support!
We'll see you on the beach!
