CCH was acquired by the community in February 2021. Our first challenge was viability through COVID. In 2023 we face a Heating Challenge.
Crail Community Partnership acquired Crail Community Hall in February 2021 as during the 2019 Community Consultation (Charrette) the hall was identified as an underused community asset while owned by Fife Council.
Community use inevitably started slowly as we were in the midst of the COVID pandemic, but this also encouraged some groups to move to the larger space offered by CCH.
2022 has been a record year for utilisation of CCH, both by the community and the weddings that provide our main income.
CCH is used by many community groups, Crail Primary School, Crail Choir, Badminton, Table Tennis, Pilates, Yoga, various social clubs and the Crail festivals. In 2023 three charities will be using the premises to provide community support through regular lunches and specific family support.
We are taking major steps to improve the efficiency of the heating system in CCH with a new boiler being installed in January 2023. But we still face a unique heating cost challenge as our energy prices increased in March 2022 and will do the same in March 2023.
We do not want to pull back from the services we make available today.
Money raised will be primarily used to support energy bill payments during 2023 and any low cost energy efficiency improvements we identify.
