Aim

To raise vital funds for DLAG.

Hi everyone

The above photo ( outside Old Ruts on 21st March 2020 ) is where the DLAG journey began

So after 5 1/2 years, food for 7m meals, 3800 digital devices , 1000s of items of furniture, hundreds of school uniform items delivered , microwaves , 100s of brand new mattresses, musical instruments, Christmas presents etc here we are with me ( yes me 😊😊 ) walking to Brighton to try to raise vital funds so we can do even more with a couple of new projects i have in mind also that will help even more local people who look at us and see hope.

You may also know but fellow DLAG co founder, Xavier, is currently walking 92 football grounds in 92 days, so I'm partly doing this to show my support for him.

Like Xavier I’m walking to raise funds for three incredible causes:

Dons Local Action Group (DLAG) – providing food, furniture, digital access, and practical support for those in need

Street Soccer Foundation (SSF) – using football-led personal development to tackle youth homelessness

Sport Local Action’s Sports Bank – removing financial barriers that prevent young people from playing sport

Here’s how the money works:

Because I’m walking for DLAG, 50% of the funds I raise will go directly to DLAG.

The remaining 50% is shared between SSF and the Sports Bank.

Importantly, DLAG will also benefit from this remaining portion, as both SSF and Sports Bank are committed to reinvesting in aligned work in DLAG’s communities - specifically in Merton, Wandsworth, and Kingston.

That means any DLAG programmes focused on tackling youth homelessness or helping young people access sport will receive direct support from these funds too.

If you could help me reach my target by sponsoring me that would be great. Thanks as always, Craig.

👍❤️
