Aim

Craig Mackinlay opposes Net Zero and doubts climate science. We’re here to research his claims so his constituents have all the facts.

South Thanet MP Craig Mackinlay chairs the Net Zero Scrutiny Group (NZSG), an organisation that claims to be “highlighting and discussing the serious implications of expensive and poorly-considered climate change policies”.

They have no claims to climate-science expertise. NZSG is closely associated with the Global Warming Policy Foundation, led by climate change denialist Nigel Lawson.

Craig and NZSG regularly cast doubt on the need to reach net zero, as well as the efficacy of renewable energy and green technologies.

Instead, they promote North Sea oil and gas production, and fracking in the UK.

They claim to be saving the poor from the 'costs' of Net Zero when their parliamentary voting record suggests the poor and disadvantaged are not their priorities. For instance, they consistently voted to abolish the £20 per week Universal Credit uplift.

We’re a group of Thanet residents drawn from across the social and political spectrum who believe the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have accurately detailed the scope of the climate emergency and the clear need for immediate and urgent action.

We want to:

  • Provide information through leaflet drops, public kiosks and social media posts that tell the truth and expose the lies
  • Keep an up-to-date website comparing the expert scientist view with that promoted by Craig Mackinlay and the NZSG
  • Encourage and support all constituents to lobby their MP with their concerns

Please join us and/or support us in our mission to expose the misinformation peddled by Craig and NZSG, and join us in our campaign to get him to support his electorate in combating climate change and the rising costs of energy.
