CAVERSHAM PARK VILLAGE ASSOCIATION

Caversham Park Village Association was founded on 1 December 1965 by some of the “early settlers” within the first 111 homes on Caversham Park Village.  There are now well over 1,500 homes on the Village. 

Its aim was to establish a community organisation and build a community centre.  Over 50 years later, that organisation is still going strong and the Milestone Centre became a reality, being opened a little over a decade later and was later added to by a squash centre and the youth and recreation building.

The Milestone Centre offers facilities for sporting sections like Squash, Bridge and Badminton. 

There is also the Caversham Park Village Social Club onsite where members can play pool, darts, watch big screen sports events, host parties or just use it as somewhere to go to meet up for a quiet drink with friends.  

Sadly the future of CPVA now looks under threat. 

Prior to Covid we had a number of regular bookings for youth groups and after school clubs but they themselves have closed down and we've struggled on but have not been able to achieve similar levels to the pre-Covid periods. 

There is a real danger that without further funding, the Association will not be able to make it through the next few months and will have to close, leaving the local community without a hub and many sportspersons without access to the facilities offered. 

We, the Trustees, are doing all we can to raise additional funds - we've dropped leaflets round the village, are trying to increase our social media presence and are talking to local construction companies about supporting us with one-off donations. 

This crowdfunder page has been set up to allow people to give as little or as much as is possible to give CPVA a future lease of life.
