Aim

To maintain an income in order to keep staff employed and keep minibuses running during the present crisis, thereby helping the elderly.

Age Concern, Chipping Norton will be losing  a large part of their income during the current crisis. The Day Centre is not operating and there will be the loss of other income i.e rent from the building that we own. We still have to pay our overheads, heating, lighting, insurances, etc.

We run two minibuses and therefore have their on going overheads.

As the leading organisation for the elderly in Chipping Norton,we have been offering our services to people in the town during the present crisis. Our staff, who we continue to pay, are helping with shopping, prescription pick-ups and social contact. We now find that our services are required for taking patients to regular doctor and hospital appointments. We have two minibuses where social distancing can be maintained.

We have covered the costs of the staff until the end of June, but, as mentioned above, our overheads are mounting up. The minibus costs are not covered, for example.

At the present time we are close to completing 200 task for the elderly in and around the town.

Our total overheads for this financial year are estimated at £80,000, therefore a quarter will cost £20,000, we are looking for half of that amount i.e. £10,000. A quarter being April,May and June, although we are not sure that the end of June will see us operating normally, but for the moment, it is that period we are looking to see financed.

We hope that when the current crisis is over we can return to our normal operation. The question is will we be viable organisation?
