About Me
My biggest passion and mission is to help people to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The thing that really inspires me and motivates me to want to help people is because know exactly how it feels to struggling in life.
Unfortunately, when i was aged only 14 my mum sadly past away. Shortly after her death I struggling with alcohol addiction, drug addiction, depression and anxiety for over 12 year.
In 2005 I made it my mission turn my life around and managed to overcome all my problems using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I've now gained qualification, youth work, counselling, teaching, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and coaching.
Since turning my life around I've helped thousands of adults, children, young people and couples to transform their relationships and life using the power of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
Having struggled with mental health problems myself at the age of fourteen I understand how difficult it can be so I want to do what I can to help.
My Mission
My mission is to generate £30,000 so that I can setup FREE counselling service for children and young people in the St Helens and surrounding areas.
COVID-19 has massively impacted the mental health and wellbeing of our children and young people.
Children are struggling with high-levels of anxiety, stress and low-mood.
My Goal
I want to offer a FREE children's mental heath assessment and I am going to all children FREE access to my Children's online Wellbeing Programme.
However, I understand that this will not be enough support for many children and young people who are struggling with high-levels of anxiety, stress and the loss of loved ones because of COVID-19.
Additionally, I am going to give every adult 1 free discovery counselling session so that they can discover how counselling can help them and they get free access to my cognitive behavioural therapy wellbeing programme just for attending their session.
How The Money Will Be Used?
After a child attends their FREE mental health assessment, they will given 6 additional counselling session with an expert counsellor.
My goal is to offer this service to 100+ children and or young people from the St Helens or the surrounding areas.
The money will contribute to paying the counsellors wages and for the hiring of rooms for counselling sessions to take place.
Why My Mission Matters
According to MentalHealth.org.uk, 10% of children and young people (aged 5-16 years) have a clinically diagnosable mental health problem, yet 70% of children and adolescents who experience mental health problems have not had appropriate interventions at a sufficiently early age
In 2016, 5,668 suicides were recorded in Great Britain. Of these, 75% were male and 25% were female.
Between 2003 and 2013, 18,220 people with mental health problems took their own life in the UK.
Suicide is the most common cause of death for men aged 20-49 years in England and Wales.
One person in fifteen have made a suicide attempt at some point in their life.
