Now this is a story all about...
Coventrians RFC was founded in 1921, over those years we have faced many challenges as a club and as a family in and out of rugby. The club has lost valued friends too soon and overcome times of hardship.
Currently....
As we approach our 100 years anniversary we are proud to have a great structure to build upon. The team put in some really solid performances last season and were disappointed not to play it out - we have had some new blood and lost some players due to long term injuries. We continue to have a growing Mini & Junior section, Touch Rugby Club and we welcomed Coventry's first Inclusive LGBTQ+ in Coventry Corsairs - who are also operating a Ladies team. We continue to home the bowls and of course the football teams.

The impact of Covid
We have all been impacted over the last few months - the rugby team were I a strong league position with two cup finals to play so we will have to start again. We have not been able to meet up and only really been able to help our most vulnerable via shopping and facetime contact. We've loaned equipment out to help those struggling to stay active during this time and we now have a slow return with so much anxiety as to what is to come. We've missed being able to connect and provide a bit of downtime to the parents for our mini's and lost out on the club's income from end of season presentations and celebrations. We are a family and we will be back together when it is safe to do so and look to rebuild. If you do have any concerns the door is always open and you can contact us at [email protected]
Why do we need your support?
As you can imagine the Covid pandemic puts pressure on our facilities - which is something we plan for each year so we can make it work. Unfortunately this year we have lost out on a big percentage of out income and as such we would ask out members and the wider community to help us continue to keep the high standards we have reached.
Where is your money going?
The club is focusing on improving the changing facilities for our Mini's and LGBTQ+ teams, the outdoor area to help with social distancing, improving the offering for our supporters in the function area but also allowing improved social distancing over the coming months to allow for as many of the club and wider community to get back some form of normality and start to rebuild their physical and mental health safely.
Who is it for?
Our main use of the funds will be to fit more showers, privacy screens and improve the social space at the club t be able to increase the revenue at the club which will in turn be re-invested. We're proud to be part of the local community and space will be revamped into an area for more varied events for all to access - we've ran many charity events to date but we will continue to offer the hire or the venue for free to those who need it most.
How do you know we did what we said we would?
Our development is being photographed and shared on all o our social media channels but we would welcome you all to come and join us when it is once again safer to do so.

And lastly....
Thank you from everyone at the club for your help and support.
