Countercanon: Women's voices in recorder music

Aim
Recording recorder music by 20th Century female composers, with a new and specially composed work by Nina Plapp Bone.
Recording the voices of women in classical music is important to us. There are many women who wrote for the recorder in the 20th Century that we rarely hear about, let alone hear their music. We rarely see them in publications either. We want to record music by Imogen Holst, Celeste Jaguaribe, Sylvia Hazlerig and Barbara Heller and bring their music to a wider audience, the majority of which is unrecorded to date. In addition to championing these women's voices we are commissioning a new duo by composer Nina Plapp Bone.
We'd also like to turn this collection of music into a publication for people to access, making the sheet music more widely available for others to learn about and enjoy. We feel this project is important archival work and it's important to role model the music of these women for future generations of musicians and composers. When searching 20th century composers online, AI overview gives a list of men. This fact alone is enough to know we all have work to do to ensure the voices of women in music are heard and their legacy celebrated.
There's no way we'd be able to do this without your support. Musicians have an enormous financial hurdle when it comes to recording anything.We're raising funds to cover the costs of a recording engineer, producer, recording venue and record label costs.
