Releif for a small business that has slipped through the cracks of all COVID-19 relief.

Hello, my name is Lewis Coulson and I am crowdfunding because like many business owners, I have been impacted by the pandemic and I need help. If you have a few moments I would like to explain how my business has been forgotten and has received no financial support or grants during the past two years.

I started my recruitment company in August 2019 after working in China as an English teacher and recruiter. My vision when starting Coul Recruitment was to give others the chance to work in a life-changing position across the world. I wanted to break the stigma that these jobs are for a certain type of person. So with no start-up loan, funding, grants or investors I created Coul Recruitment. 

As of today (February 2022) we now work directly with over 200 US and UK universities placing graduates in positions in China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Hong Kong. We offer travel insurance discounts with a top UK travel insurer, discounts at several UK establishments and we're proud to be a brand leader at multiple UK diversity focused recruitment fairs. This is in addition to being a patron for a number of Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) charities and YOUNGMIND charity. 

All this has been achieved by myself. I have no staff, just the connections I have forged through hard work with little to no advertising. I managed to achieve all of this while staying in China during the outbreak of COVID-19, unable to return to the UK for over two years. I received no help from the UK government on how to return to the UK or financial relief for my business. 

What makes my situation different is that my business can only turn a profit once candidates begin their roles, and due to the virus this has only been possible between August 2019 and December 2019 due to travel bans. 

So this is why I'm crowdfunding. The pandemic has impacted and continues to impact myself and my business. Until travel restrictions are lifted and candidates are placed, I will recieve no income. 

But I will not let the pandemic beat Coul Recruitment before it has been given a fair chance. With so many fantastic opportunities for growth available and the world slowly opening up, I wish to present the best version of my business possible. Currently there is no loan, grant or support from the UK government for me and my business, so if you would like to contribute I would be incredibly grateful.

-Upcoming career fairs

-App development/Web maintenance

-Branding 

-Expansion
