Bringing the Cotswolds to screen: help finish our documentary celebrating the land, people & future of regenerative farming.
Who We Are
Field & Folk is a feature-length documentary created by a passionate small team of filmmakers dedicated to telling the stories of farmers, growers, and landworkers across the Cotswolds. Over the past year, we have travelled throughout the region capturing voices and visions of those rethinking what it means to farm—and live—in harmony with nature, filmed across all four seasons.
Our core team includes co-producers and cinematographers Ben Arthur and Joe Morgan, alongside Director and Photographer Tea Smart. We are proud to partner with the Cotswolds National Landscape, whose support has been invaluable in helping bring this project to life and connecting us with the wider community committed to nurturing this special place.

What Is Field & Folk About?
Field & Folk is a celebration of regenerative agriculture — but it’s also about the people behind it.
From multigenerational family farms to new entrants to farming, the film explores the challenges, motivations and dreams of those working the land with care. Along the way, it touches on climate change, biodiversity loss, mental wellbeing, and the deeply personal reasons why people choose to stay — or return — to farming.

We’re proud to be working in partnership with Cotswolds National Landscape, whose early support has helped bring Field & Folk to life. With their backing, we’ve begun capturing powerful stories from across the region — shining a light on the people, places, and regenerative practices that are building a more resilient and hopeful future for our countryside.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to take Field & Folk into post-production and, in 2026, share the finished film as part of Cotswolds National Landscape’s 60th anniversary celebrations. Through a series of community screenings across towns and villages, we’ll bring people together to reflect on our shared environment, the challenges facing rural life, and the practical, positive steps being taken on the ground.
With your support, we can ensure this film reaches as many people as possible — sparking conversations, inspiring change, and celebrating the countryside communities at the heart of a greener future.

Who are our Folk?
Some of the voices behind Field & Folk — from Lucy, a third-generation sheep farmer with a regenerative vision, to Jonty at Sherborne Park Estate, and Lydia, whose smallholding hums with life and community. We hear from Dame Fiona Reynolds on the future of our protected landscapes, and explore the biodiversity-rich meadows of the Glorious Cotswolds Grasslands, alongside farmers championing grass-fed, nature-friendly approaches.
These are the stories shaping a new relationship between land, people, and the future of the Cotswolds.

Why This Matters
In an age of ecological uncertainty, stories of resilience and regeneration matter more than ever. This film shows how farming can be a force for good — not just environmentally, but socially and emotionally too.
But the conversation doesn’t end with the film. We plan to use Field & Folk as a tool for education, connection, and inspiration — screening it in local communities, festivals, schools and more.

Where We’re At
We’ve spent over a year filming across the region and have completed production — interviewing more than 15 contributors and gathering over 8TB of footage.
Now we need your help to finish the job.
How the Funds Will Be Used
Your support will directly fund the post-production phase of the film:
We’re aiming to raise enough to complete post-production this autumn, with a full public launch planned for 2026 as part of the Cotswolds National Landscape’s 60th anniversary.
