Stop our children from going hungry or cold this winter.

You can help by supporting Solidarity Sports.

Solidarity Sports is a children’s charity that harnesses the transformative power of play to nurture disadvantaged children recovering from complex trauma in West London. Since 2007 we have supported hundreds of children referred to us by Social Services and women’s refuge.

We are experiencing the biggest threat on living standards this nation has seen in decades. This autumn, 2022, the average household will face an 80% increase in energy bills. With families living on as little as £7 a week. Parents are forced to choose between feeding their children or keeping them warm. When parents phone us, they are crippled with fear, stress, and for some, feelings of suicide. Parents can no longer afford to purchase necessities such as school uniforms, fresh food and hygiene products. Energy bills have sky rocketed. Parents should not have to choose.

A mother with disabilities whom we support broke down after receiving an energy bill for £600. She told a Solidarity Sports Staff member:

“Most weeks, I'm lucky if I have £20 left in my account. I spent the whole summer dreading how I could afford to buy James* and Leah* a new school uniform. Now, on top of everything else, I can’t afford to charge my wheelchair. How am I supposed to take my children to school? I feel lost.”

Take action now.

This is our biggest appeal ever. We have pledged to raise £50,000 to help over 200 of the most vulnerable children and their families across West London. Your support means our families stand a better chance of getting through the toughest winter of their lives.

This is how your donation will make a difference. We will be able to purchase:

  • Fresh food, nutritious meals, and baby formula (as most food banks are struggling to maintain their own supplies).
  • Essential warm winter clothing, including boots, jackets and gloves.
  • Hygiene products as period poverty currently affects nearly all of our young girls and mothers.
  • School uniforms (the average uniform costs £101 per child, making it unaffordable for our parents).
  • Purchasing household items, e.g. washing machines, kettles and cookers.
