Aim: The Crisis Support Bus will reach the vulnerable, elderly and disadvantaged at this time of worry and financial hardship. We need YOUR help
The cost of living crisis has seen an unprecedented demand on our services. The events of the last two years has meant that we have been responding to an ongoing crisis that nobody could have predicted.
As the crisis began to unfold, we saw a big increase in the number of people turning to us for advice as they struggled to afford heating and food bills. People living on a very low income and needing help with money problems, rent arrears and making benefit claims
With the sudden increase in energy bills pulling around two million people into fuel poverty overnight we are most worried about those on the lowest incomes including the elderly, vulnerable and disadvantaged. Many of whom have the additional barrier of being rurally and socially isolated.
The scale of the crisis is unlike anything that we have seen before. We are helping more people with crisis support like foodbank referrals and access to grants because they simply cannot pay bills and put food on the table. Early intervention is critical if we are to avoid crisis support.
The Crisis Support Bus will allow us to offer our holistic advice service across the county. The cost of fuel, poor public transport routes and mobility are just some of the barriers to service access. The bus will allow us to reach many more residents where and when help is needed.
We are an independent charity and your financial support will help with the ongoing costs of this innovative and essential project.
