Complex post traumatic stress disorder (cPTSD), is a relatively new diagnosis very common with ex forces( veterans) that have been involved in traumatic experiences. Many of our team have personally benefited from the support of this unique charity.

Veterans who are struggling with life after the military can experience poor mental while in transition to civilian life. During a sudden change in circumstances they can often find them selves at risk of homelessness or worse at risk of suicide. Combined with the rise in the cost of living, local authorities do not have the resources to support ex-forces personnel, the voluntary sector is experiencing a spike in crisis cases.

The Block Armed Forces Foundation homeless prevention project started in Liverpool in 2019 and was first a small veteran community service aimed at helping local ex-forces in times of crisis. By providing emergency accommodation along with inclusion and a safe likeminded space the Block provides the tools our veterans need to tackle these difficult periods of their lives.

The Block has now become a registered charity and its services are used as part of the governments plan to end Veterans homelessness in the U.K  (Op Fortitude).  As a self funded charity, not in receipt of council or government funding the charity relies on fundraising to fund its mission.  .

Please help us to support the next homeless ex-forces veteran that reached out to The Block for housing and mental health support.

With the help of crowdfunding we hope to raise £30,000 to support over 120 homeless veterans across Merseyside with emergency accommodation and mental health support.
