Aim

To restore the station to a 1920's M&GN era look minus the running rails and bring people closer in the community.

Founded by Macauley Carey in 2021, the project is dedicated to the restoration of a wonderful piece of architecture that almost uniquely isn't a private residence.

Ideas have suggested jointly a heritage centre to the railway and village including a small café.

The station being 140 years old is in need of some light works to nurture it into another century. Works to include some work to the roofing and largely decorating. Further work could include the reinstating of the partition walls inside which would work well for a café kitchen, seating area and heritage room respectively.

Being a community project, we already have a small team of volunteers and are always looking for more. Any work that can be carried out by the team will be. Funding would help us to purchase the materials and specialist services such as the roofing and electricians.

Externally, the station (excluding platform 2 and the signal box as long demolished) would be like stepping back into the 1920's with the correct colour scheme, sympathetically reproduced signage and hand bills on the station building. Platform seating will also become available for anyone to take in the tranquility of the area.
