Raising funds for Antibody Tests

As you will be aware from our email last week, we advised that no LFIA (lateral flow immunoassay) test available in the UK for Covid-19 antibody testing had met the MHRA government standards for sensitivity and specificity. As such no LFIA test was suitable for the accurate testing of individuals to determine anti-Covid-19 antibodies, we decided to close the project and refund everyone's money. In light of the fact that we could not fulfil our original remit of testing front-line staff, we believed a refund was warranted and we requested all pledges be refunded in full. This request was not actioned correctly by Crowdfunder and we were notified today by a supporter that a confusing Project Successful email had been sent out today. We apologised for this error and notified you this morning that we would be investigating. We have not yet been able to ascertain why our refund request last week was not actioned, so we have gone into the system and manually, one by one, actioned a full refund to each and every supporter. We have received emails asking us why we have refunded your pledges and we wanted to make sure that the situation was explicit and fully explained. Thank you again for your amazing support.
