Cornwall Council: Community Chest Fund has provided £2,202 of match funding
The project is for funding towards equipment which is needed to continue our work to help search and rescue people across the county
The project is the request for funding towards Mountain Rescue Jackets for our volunteers. Much of our current equipment has reached the end of its life expectancy and requires replacing or upgrading
As our team grows the need for more equipment and supplies grows to, so that we can have more people out on the ground with the correct equipment and Mountain Rescue Jackets are a vital piece of equipment for all of our volunteers. We will also purchase other essential kit (i.e. torches, windows tablet and medical bag) if funds allows.
The team is made up of around 50 men and women throughout the county who are all trained to a high standard in various search and rescue skills.
Equipment is based towards the busier areas of the county and includes specialist medical, evacuation and rescue equipment specifically designed for remote, underground and moorland areas of the county.
The team trains in two sections—East and West, however they regularly come together for joint training and specialist courses. This helps to improve response times, enhance local knowledge and reduces the pressures on team members. Both sections of the team always respond to all call outs 24/7, regardless of where in the county it is.
