Cornish Barbarians Marathon Row - Georgias Choice
We did it
On 20th August 2024 we successfully raised £260 ( + est. £60.00 Gift Aid ) with 6 supporters in 56 days

I am joining Cornish Barbarians Pilot Gig Club to row a marathon and fundraise for Georgia’s Voice’s new Lifesaving Hub for Young Women.

As many know Gig Rowing is a favourite sport of mine, and on 10th August 2024 I will be joining fellow gig rowers from across the country to row a marathon.

We will be on the water at the crack of dawn to row 26.2 miles throughout the day, dealing with whatever the Cornish elements can throw at us in order to raise money for an incredible cause….. Georgia’s Voice, the women’s suicide prevention and wellbeing charity and in support of their mission to raise funds for a much needed Lifesaving Hub for Young Women in Cornwall.

Suicide rates in young women under 24 in the UK are the highest they have ever been, showing there is a real need for a dedicated space in Cornwall where emotional support can be given, to enable young women to talk and really be listened to - with empath, understanding and without judgement.

Georgias Voice is aiming to raise £50,000 to make this hub a reality, and every penny that I and fellow  Cornish Barbarians raise will contribute to that goal.

Put simply, by donating some money in support of my Cornish Barbarians Marathon Row attempt, you’ll be helping to save lives of and improve futures for, young women throughout Cornwall.

Thank you so much for your support!
