Coraline Skincare Crowdfunder Update after week 5

Here we are at at Week 5 and a half of our six-week Crowdfunder which ends next week on Tuesday 27th May.

 Where we are at!

It's been an amazing time. We are almost a quarter of the way towards our goal of £20,000 with the support of 113 of you. We have prioritised the pledge money we have received for soundproofing and kitting out our new treatment room as we will be able to use some of the revenue this generates towards making the candles and SPF and ordering all the ingredients and packaging for them.  This seemed to be our wisest investment of the funds! The candles and SPF may take a little longer to produce than we anticipated, but they are most assuredly coming!  Once the increased cashflow from the treatments is available, we can focus on these two projects with gusto.

Our treatment room is ready and our booking system is live

We are totally delighted to say that our holistic facial, back massage and reiki treatments went live on our website yesterday and our wonderful beauty therapist Amanda is set to begin delivering them in just over a week!

We wanted to give you first dibs on booking your session with us as you supported us in our Crowdfunder.

The images on the website are all placeholders for the time being but if any of you booking a treatment fancy helping us out by posing for pictures you could feature on our website forever ☺️.

Coraline Skincare Treatments - Ready for booking

Beginning 2 June 2025, we’ll be offering our treatments on Mondays and Tuesdays, with plans to expand availability as demand grows. We will let all our Coraline Skincare customers know that they are now live in an email this weekend. What an achievement, only made possible with your backing. Thank you.

It was a truly special moment to see the new treatment pages up on our website this week. Also, rather incredibly, our web developer, James, spent 17 hours working hard on getting the treatment webpages coded and he gave us 6 hours of that time for free as his contribution to our Crowdfunder. Kevin also has been working so hard on the text for the pages together with Amanda and the rest of the team. We've also further soundproofed the room and ordered more equipment so it looks truly inviting and will feel quiet and relaxing.

Candles

As regards the candles, we have now named them and will announce their names next month and the regulatory process is underway. Our resident artist on the team, Louise, RCA, (Royal College of Art) is looking at creating our botanical packaging design to showcase their natural ingredients.

Sunscreen

Kevin will be making his test batch of sunscreen on Tuesday together with an engineer from a lab technology company who is bringing along a specialised piece of equipment for Kevin to use. This will be a chance for Kevin to see if he can achieve the stability of the SPF that he needs for regulatory approval.

Spreading the word

Our Crowdfunding story has been featured in Exeter Today, a local digital news platform covering Exeter and the surrounding areas in Devon, UK, and we will be in Exeter Tomorrow magazine's next issue, a quarterly business and lifestyle magazine.

Last update next week

We will write again on Wednesday next week after our Crowdfunder has closed to let you know our grand total raised and to let you know how Kevin gets on with his sunscreen formulations on Tuesday. It's been such an enjoyable, motivating experience for us on the team and we are genuinely grateful for your pledges.

Our team has been working so hard and happily and we appreciate everything they do, and all that you all have done for us to be at this stage,

Best wishes, Liz, Kevin, Coraline and the Coraline Skincare team
