Hi Everyone,
Kevin here to write this week’s update. We are now at the end of the fourth week of our six-week Crowdfunder and we continue to feel the most amazing support of community behind us. Thank you to every one of you for supporting us.
As I write this, we are now at £4,355, from a wonderful 101 of you (what a magical number to reach ☺️)! This is 21% of the way towards our target. We began contacting a few local publications last week, and have even featured in the Mid-Devon Advertiser which you can read below using the link.
We are continuing to contact other publications and blogs to help to reach our target and this feels very exciting for us. North Devon Gazette are going to feature us shortly. We also got a huge surprise yesterday when Entrepreneur Guru, Simon Squibb, featured us as 'Business of the Week' in his weekly newsletter. He has a considerable following so the fact he has championed us is something we will always remember!
Candles Update:
I am almost ready to send the regulatory paperwork off for the candles, and we have just received the organic candle wicks from specialists in Italy. We are now going to hand cut and hand wax them with our own organic/wild candle wax!
Sunscreen Update:
I have been in touch with a lab technology company about a machine that I believe will help to get the required emulsification, stability, and ultimately the signoff from regulatory that we need. I am meeting one of their engineers in just over a week to do some test batches using the machine.
Assuming we have the stability sorted, this test batch will then be sent off for SPF testing and we can accelerate everything to have it available for our Crowdfunder backers first, followed by getting it onto the shelves before the summer has finished!
Our Treatment Room Is Almost Ready – and It’s Beautiful!
One of our lovely customers Lesley came in on Saturday and dropped a bottle of Moet and Chandon off for us and the team – we were so touched by this gesture and it shows that fundamentally we all love to cheer each other on and support each other.
We can hardly believe our treatment room is now basically ready, and it’s everything we hoped for. There are still a few finishing touches to apply but earlier this week, six of us on the team were lucky enough to experience a full 90-minute holistic facial and Japanese Reiki treatment with Amanda. We decided to do the treatments for the team to see how the experience felt and hone how we describe the treatments on our website. Every single person left feeling restored, glowing, and utterly blown away by their treatment. So this was an amazing outcome.
Amanda is a truly gifted and intuitive therapist, and we’re over the moon that she’s now part of the team. We’re so excited to now be in a position to begin offering treatments with her from the beginning of June. We are just polishing off work on the website text and booking system for the treatments. We will be sharing more on our Coraline Skincare newsletter in the next week or so if you’d like to be kept up-to-date. You can also book a treatment as a Crowdfunder reward if you fancy first dibs!
