We are aiming to raise funds to record our first album.
Hello! We are Con’tylia, a Glasgow-based band exploring the wonders of traditional Greek island and mainland folk music. Our sound is based around creating our own twists to old melodies, ranging from classic ballads to lively island dances. We dive into decades of Greek traditional sounds, Minor Asian scales, and unique rhythms, blending them with touches of jazz vocals and improvisation. We are extremely grateful to have had the chance to bring our music to Scotland the last three years and even more for the appreciation and interest it has received. This would not have been possible without the support of our friends and the wider Glasgow music community!
We’re now hoping to raise funds to release an album of our favourite songs—something that has been long awaited, but that we’ve never had the means to produce. To make this happen we need your support, and in return, we’re offering some exclusive merch as a thank-you!
Every little bit helps :)

2 - Promotional Plans
2.1 Social media involvement:
Through our Instagram and YouTube pages we will be sharing behind the scenes footage from our recording and photos with all of our followers. Additionally, the crowdfund donors will be getting a shout-out on our Instagram page and personalised thank you messages.
2.2 Mailing List:
We will keep our supporters up to date with our merch progress, album timeline of launch event dates.
2.3 Digital distribution:
The album will be released on Bandcamp, allowing us to distribute digital and physical sales directly.
2.4 Local & Diaspora engagement:
We have already been in contact with the Glasgow Greek Society to perform at one of their events and promote our album. This will allow us to share information about the cultural origin of the traditional songs performed, with an opportunity for discussion. Being a Glasgow based band, our sound has been influenced by Scottish culture, which will now be heard on our new album. This will invite traditional music appreciators of Greece into this new fusion of sounds and melodies.
2.5 Album launch event and live performances
Our launch event will be a public event in Glasgow where we will collaborate with other creatives to bring together a night of community gathering, cultural exploration and live performance. This will include live dancing performances, bands and potentially an art exhibition.
We plan to continue performing in folk festivals around Scotland and beyond as well as other music gatherings, where we will be distributing our records and merchandise.
Community engagement will be continued by performing at our local Glasgow venues where our regular supporters can come and get involved in our new musical endeavours.
