Aim
To develop the community field into a space which welcomes, connects and educates people of all ages with and about nature.
Hello, we are W.I.L.D. - Woodland Inspired Learning and Development.
Together with Friends of Linn Park (FOLP), W.I.L.D. is developing a previously disused field, turning it into an accessible, creative space where groups of local people can meet, create and grow together. We plan to install compostable toilets and a community building as a base for meetings, schools and the wider community.
So far FOLP have installed a polycrub, a welfare unit, a shed and a small polytunnel. They are growing native plants and trees to plant back into the park to ensure its biodviersity is maintained. Together we plant these saplings into the park with community groups including the Scouts and through W.I.L.D. forest school.
We are in the early stages of the process. Our priorities at this stage and for this crowdfunder are buliding paths, drainage systems, installing solar panels and planting trees, flowers and vegetables.
W.I.L.D. was created by Gill and Linda. Through our passion for nature, our love of our local park, Linn Park and observing that there was little provision for outdoor play for school aged children, W.I.L.D. was made. Today W.I.L.D. has 3 Directors, Fee joined us this year, and 7 employees. We are a Community Interest Company and a Care Inspectorate registered Out of School Care Service providing care for 100 children every week.
