We will be able to keep the minibus serviced and available for the community to use.
The Padstow & District Community Bus has been used by local charities and organisations for over 10 years.
Our services are so beneficial in an area where there is limited public transport and many people are affected by loneliness and isolation. We’ve now added a Monday Daytime clubs to the two we already have on a weekly basis. And the minibus is used by other local organisations including schools and community groups.
Here are testimonials from some of our current users:
'The use of the Padstow Community Minibus is a vital resource for our organisation. We depend on the hire of their minibus to be able to transport our cadets and volunteers to courses and events, that allows our young people to meet and engage with other Sea Cadets from across the county and Southwest Area.'
'The Carer’s Club has been a regular user of the Padstow Community bus for a number of years. Many of our members have mobility issues and the facility for wheelchair users is invaluable. We have members from Padstow and several surrounding villages and in most cases, they do not have access to their own or public transport. The bus enables these isolated people to access the various events that we organise and to enjoy each other’s company on the journey.'
We are reliant on grants and donations to keep the service running in order to provide a good value transport link for the local groups and organisations that benefit from the mini bus.
Our Trustees and Drivers are all volunteers and we are always looking for more volunteers to help us. Please get in touch if you can help in any way!
