Aim

To support our existing small groups and to gather people into warmer space during the winter months.

Who are we?

We've been working in Thirsk for the last twenty years or so, helping vulnerable and struggling families and individuals for all of that time.  We're Thirsk's 'go-to' charity for our Food Bank, work with older people, one to one work, employment support work, and work with people who are struggling with their mental health.

Community impact

Every year Community Works benefits thousands of people across Thirsk and North Yorkshire.  Whether you're needing someone to talk to, you'd like to volunteer in our fabulous Re:use store, or you're needing help filling in an online form - that's what we do!  Of course we're also here when life gets complicated.  Our Foodbank feeds hundreds upon hundreds of individuals and families each year, our work with those people that live with Dementia is simple, yet beautiful, and on cold winter days...there's no warmer welcome from our staff!

Why are we crowdfunding?

We're crowd funding because we know that there are some incredibly generous people in Thirsk and we often receive very kind donations of food and money and time from them.  This Crowdfunder appeal gives us a sharper focus around warm spaces during the winter months and we're asking the community of Thirsk to come together and help us to help others.

How we’ll spend the money raised

We'll be spending the money we raise on running our amazing services across the town but mainly by starting and continuing our existing small groups too!  All of our accounts are always available at the end of the year online for the public to see....if you're interested in that sort of thing :-)
