Community Petanque Piste

Aim

We want to build a permanent petanque piste within Christchurch Park, Ipswich, to encourage greater community participation of this sport

As part of the on-going growth of the Suffolk Coastal Petanque Alliance and it's league, the Adnams Coastal Petanque League, we are aiming to construct a permanent petanque piste within the idyllic surroundings of Christchurch Park, in the heart of Ipswich.

Currently we play on the area between the Mansion and the Round Pond but due to the success of the Mansion Cafe, the space has become limited and unable to host an event of any real size.

The plan is to form at least a 2-lane piste that would be able to host events ranging from ''Learn To Play'', junior & adult coaching days, as well as organised events such as league play, competitions, etc.

The location of the piste within the park has already been briefly discussed with the Parks Department but with council budgets being the way they are in the recent economic climate, we are looking at other means of trying to fund the project and hope that we can count on your support, whether it be a small pledge or a much larger amount.
